Hello Spring Brook Parents -
Reflections -- ONLY 7 more days to go!!
We are sure all your kids are working hard to put some finishing touches to their creations for reflections and we can't wait to see them. If your kids is still undecided, it's not too late to start on a project and finish it in time!. Theme for this year - "Heroes around me".
Final submissions are due on Monday, Oct 15.
Please have your child drop off the submissions in the main office. Please be sure to review the submission requirements for your category for accuracy.
Reflections - Another opportunity
Not interested in art, fear not!! There is another opportunity for you. You can participate in theme search. Attached is the form you can have your child fill out to get their theme idea entry in. Also attached to the form are themes used in the past so be sure to not repeat the idea as it won't be accepted.
You can email the completed form directly to us or submit them in the main office on Monday. Do not email the submissions directly to that email address on the form, that way we can keep track of student submissions and acknowledge their participation.

SAVE THE DATE: Take a night off from cooking and help raise money for Spring Brook School! On Monday, October 15th, stop by Home Run Inn at Boughton and Weber (1280 W. Boughton Rd, Bolingbrook) for lunch, dinner, or take-out. Show the attached flyer on your smart phone to your server and Home Run Inn will donate 30% of sales to our school. Spring Brook’s Annual “Science Fair”
Date: WEDNESDAY OCT 24th, 2018
All Spring Brook students and their parents are invited to participate in the STEM science fair on Wednesday, Oct 24th, 2018.
Each student or group of students (Max.3) from grades K - 5 can develop a project with the help of their parents to present at the fair. To register, please complete the attached form or fill out the form sent home last week via kids back pack mail and return it to your teacher by Friday, Oct 12th. Students must pre-register to participate. This event is limited to 100 display spots. Looking forward to seeing all our young scientists participating in the science fair.
"Science Fair" volunteer slots are now open!!
Middle and High school students can help as well! Your help is vital to making this a successful event for our children. Judges do not have to be from Science filed, but it will be helpful if judges understand how a Science fair works. Having a degree in Science isn't as necessary as having an understanding of kids. Sample questions will be provided to Judges to ask to their student participants. Please help to spread the message that Science Fair Volunteer slots are now available.

Box Tops for Education Collection
The PTA will be collecting Box Tops for Education again this year to benefit Spring Brook. Last year we raised over $1,300! Collection sheets will be sent home with your student this week (also attached).
What is the Box Tops Program?
The General Mills Box Tops program is a free way to earn money for Spring Brook Elementary. Here’s how it works:
v BUY – Purchase products with the Box Tops logo which can be found on hundreds of items -Participating Products
v CLIP – Clip the Box Top from each package
v SEND – Send the Box Tops to school with your child on a collection sheet or in a Ziploc bag or envelope
v EARN – Each unexpired, valid Box Tops official coupon is worth 10¢ for Spring Brook Elementary
The Box Tops program is an easy way for our community to raise funds for enhancements such as technology and library items. We will be collecting all year, so feel free to send in at your convenience. Be sure to ask other family members to collect them as well!!
v FALL CONTEST: Every completed collection sheet returned to school in September or October with a student name on it will be entered into a prize raffle. Prizes will be awarded to a few students in November. The more sheets submitted, the more chances your child has to win. Be sure your child’s NAME is on the collection sheet, Ziploc bag or envelope.

Adult Social – Save the Date
Mark your calendars, the 5th Annual Spring Brook Adult Social is set for Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Nevin’s Brewing Company. This year's theme will be Prom! Planning is underway and we need YOUR help to make this event a success. Do you have a business or contact that would be interested in donating an auction item?
