Hello Spring Brook Parents –

District Preschool Program Coming to South Naperville

District 204's Prairie Children Preschool will soon be expanding to south Naperville. Starting with the 2019-20 school year, the preschool program will have classrooms at Graham Elementary School. The preschool’s main campus is located at 780 Shoreline Dr., Aurora. For the past several years, the preschool has also offered its program at Longwood, Gombert and McCarty Elementary Schools on the district’s north side.

Prairie Children Preschool offers early childhood education for children ages three and four and is open to all District 204 residents. The program provides a continuum of instruction based on learning standards aligned with District 204’s kindergarten program. All classroom teachers are licensed by the Illinois State Board of Education and hold endorsements in the areas of early childhood education, early childhood special education, and English as a second language.

Preschool classes are 2.5 hours each day, Monday through Thursday. Tuition is $245 a month. Visit the website for enrollment materials.

PTA Meeting

Our next PTA meeting is on Thursday, April 25th at 9:30am in the lunch room. At the meeting, elections will take place for next year's Board positions.

All members are encouraged to attend and participate in the elections and other PTA business. We hope you can join us and as always, children are welcome!

SAFETY WEEK

Safety Week will take place the week of April 22. During this week, we will teach safety lessons to students. The following safety skills will be presented in age appropriate ways: listen to an adult, be alert, situational awareness, moving with a purpose, exit awareness and rally points. These lessons are designed to cover the basic components of school safety without creating anxiety or worry in students.

We look forward to an engaging week with our students. Please contact the office if you have any questions. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school safe.

Be Internet Awesome Workshop

Raising children in a digital world is challenging, but together we can Be Internet Awesome! Bring your families and join us at Spring Brook for an interactive online safety workshop on Wednesday, May 1st from 6:00-7:30, made possible by the PTA Connected with Google Be Internet Awesome Family Workshop Grant. Through discussion and activities we will learn how to be smart, kind, and brave online, and set goals as a family for intentional device usage. Parents will walk away with answers to questions about online safety, and information to help continue safe practices at home.

The first 50 families to check in at the door will receive a gift bag that includes Google’s Be Internet Awesome family guide. Light refreshments will be served, and there will be great giveaways including a grand prize Google Pixelbook! This event is free and open to all Spring Brook families.

* We only need a handful of volunteers to make this event successful! Please sign up to help at https://signup.com/go/ZkdLLvS. Most of the openings allow you to fully participate in the workshop too. *
