Hello Spring Brook Parents – Field Day is scheduled for today. Do your best to particiapte in as many activities as you can, but I understand it may be difficult due to the weather. You may need to wait until a better weather day to complete some of the stations. Have a great day!

Field Day Today!

We are excited to bring you remote Field Day 2020 today!

Access Field Day 2020 here (LINK) to begin the fun. Be sure to to click on the icons to find station information and "how to" videos.

Let's encourage Spring Brook students to move and read to keep their bodies and minds healthy. Don't forget to send family field day fun photos to jenny_dinello@ipsd.org.

Thank you for your support,

Mrs. DiNello and Dr. Hoyle Ross

PTA Volunteers Needed for 2020-21

The PTA needs YOUR help and leadership for the 2020-2021 school year! To continue providing fun and educational opportunities for our school, we must have parent volunteers willing to chair each of our program committees. There are several open committee chair positions for next year listed below. Please email springbrookpresidentpta@gmail.com to learn more about these roles or to sign on for one of them. Would you like to help but aren’t sure where to begin? Please contact us and we will match you with an opportunity that’s a good fit for you!

Events will be subject to change depending on the status of COVID-19 policies.

--Ice Cream Social – 1 or 2 co-chairs needed -- Coordinate annual ice cream social event at the start of the school year— work with vendors, organize set-up and volunteers for the event over the summer with help from the executive committee. Moderate time commitment July through mid-August.

--Membership – 1 chair needed -- Coordinate annual PTA membership drive at the beginning of the school year— promote PTA mission, collect staff membership forms, track and organize member data in Excel and/or MemberHub system. ~5 hrs/week late August through early October.

--Adult Social – 2 co-chairs needed, but more are welcome -- Plan, organize and execute the PTA’s biggest fundraiser of the year (~$10,000) in late January. Planning begins in early fall. Ideas for updating this event are encouraged! Chairs work with vendors and coordinate a committee of volunteers that help with event planning, donation solicitation, and day-of details.

--Dough Raising – 1 chair needed – Organize and promote quarterly fundraising events at local restaurants or activity centers. Low time commitment, 2-3hrs/quarter.

--Reflections – 1 chair needed -- Reflections is a national arts education program sponsored by National PTA and coordinated in D204 by IPPC. Students create works of art based on a theme and are recognized at both the school and district level. The Reflections chair promotes the program, collects student entries, works with IPPC to submit entries and ensures our students’ works are displayed and recognized at Spring Brook. Moderate time commitment from August-early spring.

--Health & Safety: Red Ribbon Week – 1 or 2 co-chairs needed -- RRW is the nation’s largest and oldest drug prevention program, taking place each year from October 23rd-31st. Chairs will plan school-wide theme days, materials, and marketing for the week. Low time commitment late September-October only.

--Tile Night – 1 co-chair needed – Assist returning chair with planning Tile Night event and at-home tile submissions, as well as coordinating with tile vendor. Ideally this year’s co-chair would take over the following year. Low time commitment.

--Apparel / Spirit Wear – 1 chair needed -- Promote spirit wear sales throughout the year, work with vendor as needed to ensure ordering process runs smoothly. Low time commitment, some over the summer to prepare for the start of school.

--IPEF Representative – 1 chair needed (Indian Prairie Educational Foundation – supports educational enrichment of D204 students). Keep Spring Brook PTA up to date on IPEF news/opportunities— possibly coordinate spirit squad for Kids’ Marathon in October. Low time commitment sporadically throughout the year.

* In accordance with our bylaws, you must become a PTA member for the 2020-2021 school year in order to chair a committee. *

There are many ways to get involved with Spring Brook PTA, and volunteers are always needed throughout the year. Separate emails will go out closer to each event asking for additional volunteers. Thank you for your generosity!
