Reported by david_worst@ipsd.org on 10/30/17

Hello Spring Brook Parents,

Halloween Parade
We will have our Halloween parade on Tuesday, October 31 at 2:45 PM. Students will exit door 12, walk around the school and re-enter door 12. Students will be dismissed at the normal dismissal time. A few reminders: Students need to bring their costumes to school. They will be given sufficient time to change into their costumes. Students will not be allowed to wear their masks or have costumes that include: fake weapons, blood, gore or any obscenities. If there is inclement weather on Tuesday, the Halloween parade will be held inside for staff and students only. Let's hope for good weather!

Parent/Teacher Conference Sign Up
Parent/Teacher Sign Up is open until 5 PM on November 2. You should have received an email on October 10 with an activation code. The email was sent from "noreply@powerptc.net". You must activate your account before you can schedule a conference.

Once you sign in, please follow the steps below:
Click on conference schedule
Click on “manually schedule appointments” which is on the right side of the screen. DO NOT choose date and time at the top of the page
Click on “Not Scheduled”
You may then choose anytime and day where you see “Request Appointment”

A few notes for you:
*Please sign up for ONLY one time slot per child, per teacher. The scheduling system (Power PTC) will not allow you to sign up for more than one conference slot with the same teacher.

*You are only signing up for your homeroom teacher unless you have a child in Project Arrow. Please only sign up with Mrs. Kooi, PA teacher, if your child has her for Project Arrow.

*You will not be able to sign up for a conference with specials teachers using this system. If you want a conference with a specials teacher, please e-mail them directly.

Please call the office if you have any questions. 630-428-6600

Veterans’ Day

Veterans’ Day Assembly/Breakfast -Friday, November 10th

We are going to be hosting a small ceremony to honor the grandfathers, grandmothers, moms, dads, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters and any other family members who have served in our nation's Armed Forces.

If there is a Veteran in your family that you would like to honor, please fill out the form sent home with your child. Feel free to attach a photo if you have one and return it to school by Friday, November 3rd. These will be displayed in the hallways leading up to our ceremony.

From 8:30-9:30 on November 10th, we will be hosting a continental breakfast for any Spring Brook family veteran that would like to attend. Please RSVP http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a4faeaf22a0fd0-honored by Monday, November 6th if you plan to attend the breakfast with your Veteran. Please feel free to dress in your military uniforms if you can. After breakfast, all Veterans are invited to stay for a flag-raising ceremony and the Pledge of Allegiance, led by our local Boy Scout troop, as well as a presentation in our main gym. All activities should conclude by approximately 10:45. ——

Tile Night is back!

Wednesday, November 15th – 6:00pm – 8:00pm (Can’t make that night...do it from home!)

Let’s fill up our tile wall, and call it Tile Hall!

Kindergartners make your mark on the wall for your first year at Spring Brook! 5th Graders leave your last mark...and every one in between!!!

Come decorate a tile page that gets transferred to a tile by an outside vendor, and then put on the wall! See sign up flyer attached, and a copy will be sent home this week as well. You can e-mail any questions to julie.scarpaci@comcast.net.
