Sen. Connelly's Back to School Cybersecurity Town Hall, Aug. 16
With the school year approaching, State Senator Michael Connelly wants to remind and inform school officials, teachers, and parents about the dangers that come when children use technology. In an effort to do so, he invites you to join him for his Back-to-School Cybersecurity Town Hall with special guest Naperville Detective Rich Wistocki.
Thursday, August 16, 2018
Fountain View Recreation Center, Room 120
910 N. Gary Ave.
Carol Stream, IL 60188
As youth continue to embrace new forms of technology, it becomes even more important to provide them with the proper guidance and supervision to limit their risk of dangers, such as their physical and psychological well-being. These technologies are forums in which anyone can have direct contact with kids, pre-teens, and teenagers. It is up to parents, teachers, and other adults to establish rules, guidelines and expectations with school-aged children and to supervise their access and use of these technologies. Educating yourself to the potential dangers is key to keeping kids safe, and that’s the goal of Sen. Connelly’s Cybersecurity Town Hall.
With expertise from Detective Wistocki, attendees will acquire strategies on practices that create vulnerability with children and learn what makes them at risk. Additionally, Sen. Connelly will be providing an update on legislation that deals with cybersecurity and the safety of children.
All are invited to attend the event to give their input and to ask questions. No RSVP is required, but seating could be limited due to the room size.
