ACE (Ask, Connect, Engage) Time
As shared at our Board of Education, we are pleased to announce that our students who will be learning via Zoom from April 13 until June 4, have access to IPSD 204 teacher support. It is starting Tuesday, April 13. It be available from 4-7pm Mondays through Thursdays until June. If your child has a question or needs some assistance with school work our staff are here to support you on Zoom. You do not need to register or sign up. Your child can stay on as long or as short as they’d like.

Important Information-Returning Full Day on April 13th
Starting on Tuesday, April 13th students who are not remote learners will begin to attend school from 9am to 3pm. Please read this message for important information.
Arrival procedures and bus route times remain the same. Doors 1, 2 and 9 will open at 8:45am. The circle drive is available for student drop off. Fifth grade students can ride their bikes to school but must walk them on school property and lock them on the bike rack.
Lunch procedures are as follows:
Grade levels will eat lunch split into two groups, half will be in the lunchroom and half will be in our multipurpose room. The locations will remain the same for the rest of the school year.
Students may bring a lunch from home.
Students that choose to receive a free school lunch and/or milk will pick up the lunch and a milk from coolers as they enter the lunchroom or multi-purpose room.
Students that chose to eat the district provided lunch will have two options, one vegetarian and one not vegetarian, there will be a calendars of meal choices available for families to preview ahead of time on the district website. Meals will include the breakfast components that students can take home to consume the next day. Lunches will include a main entrée, fresh fruit OR vegetable and a milk.
Students must always wear masks when they are not actively eating.
Students will have outdoor recess when the weather permits, they must use hand sanitizer before exiting the building.
Indoor recess will be held in the classrooms.
Students must wear their masks outside while they are playing unless they are 6 feet apart.
Students cannot use playground equipment but will have access to balls that are specific to their grade level.
Students will wash their hands with their classroom teacher when they re-enter the building.
Students will not be bringing lunches home at the end of the day, but they will still be available for the community at door 1 from 10:00 to 11:00am and from 1:00 to 2:00pm.
Dismissal procedures will remain the same. If you do not know what door your child exits from, please contact their teacher. Please remember that students MUST use the crosswalks when crossing the street and dogs are not allowed on school property.
Great news Spring Brook families! We know that many of you want a school yearbook this year and we are going to make it happen. The PTA will work with HR Imaging and Spring Brook staff to submit photos of our students. This school year we will not have professional pictures taken, but you will be able to submit your students' picture directly to the company.
Here are the steps (you will do it separately for each child you have):
1) Go to hrimaging.wetransfer.com
2) You will see a small text box on the left hand side.
3) Enter your email and in the message field put:
1) School Name (Spring Brook Elementary)
2) Students First and Last Name
4) Teacher's Name
4) Upload your picture under "Add your file" (takes 5 minutes)
Tips for taking pictures:
1) Hold your phone vertically, get close to your student, Don't photograph into the light, instead have the light source be behind you.
2) Include their head and shoulders. The company wants space on top of their head in the picture.
3) Take the picture against a solid colored background instead of a building or a car.
4) Use the highest resolution on your camera to get a good picture. Take lots of pictures but only pick 1 to upload.
The deadline to submit pictures is Friday, April 16th. We will send a link later to order the actual yearbook.

Cub Scout Pack 887 is an active year-round family scouting unit chartered by Wheatland Salem Church in Naperville, IL. We are home to over 35 girl and boy scouts in grades K-5 from the 204 school district, primarily Spring Brook and Builta Elementary although we serve any girl or boy interested in advancing along the Cub Scout Trail. Pack 887 is a community of friends and family guiding our scouts to do their best!
